Unit4 appoints René Bentvelzen as Global Data Protection Officer

With the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), coming into force on 25th May, 2018, we are announcing the appointment of René Bentvelzen (51) as Global Data Protection Officer (DPO). As our global DPO, René will be responsible for overseeing Unit4’s internal and external data protection strategy and ensuring we adhere to the new regulations imposed by GDPR.

Having spent the last 11 years specializing in compliance and privacy and with a strong background in IT and software engineering, René joins Unit4 early May. As set out by the data privacy regulation, René will remain independent while carrying out his duties for the business.
