Education Strategy Forum, Oxfordshire,

Unit4, a world leader in enterprise systems for Higher Education, has announced that the largest independent college in Ireland, Dublin Business School (DBS), is to implement Unit4 Student Management in the Microsoft Azure Cloud. The project will support its domestic and international growth plans, which are driven by a superb student experience.

Dublin Business School specialises in the provision of career focused business, IT and law education, as well as the delivery of contemporary programmes in the areas of arts, media, social science, humanities and psychology. 9000 students and 400 staff will have access to the next-generation student management platform. Via any device students will be able to manage the administration of campus life, and staff will be able to make data-driven decisions that improve the student experience. It is the college’s first holistic student management solution, which replaces a number of disparate systems.

A company of Kaplan Inc, DBS is looking to grow through its domestic and internationalisation strategy. Paramount to this ambition is a modern and immersive experience that provides students with the tools they need to succeed.

“Following a competitive process Unit4 Student Management was the outright winner."

Andrew Conlan-Trant, Executive Dean at DBS

“We required a student platform that matched the digital expectations of our students, the strategy of the college, and that will also be able to facilitate the external systems we work with such as CAO and HEA,” said Andrew Conlan-Trant, Executive Dean at DBS. “Following a competitive process Unit4 Student Management was the outright winner. Its digital foundation will provide students and staff with maximum convenience when it comes to administration, so they can dedicate more time to their studies. By using the cloud we will be able to scale the institution easily and provide convenient access to students no matter where they are in the world.”

Student Management, which is being implemented by DBS in partnership with Unit4 services, will streamline processes, using workflow to automatically prompt both students and staff for information or action, so deadlines are not missed and operations can move faster.

“We are delighted to be working with this world-renowned independent provider,” said Matt Searles, Industry Director for Education at Unit4 “That DBS recognises the value of the solution towards student success is further indication of its suitability to the modern sector landscape. Momentum also continues to build for Unit4 Student Management because it provides institutions with an advantage when it comes to recruiting and retaining students.”

Unit4 is the leading provider of back office systems to institutions in the Republic of Ireland and the UK.
